Imagination is the capacity to visualize, to be confident in or hopeful of a reality that contradicts our experience and unshackles the limits of what is possible. This is why faith, in part, is an act of the imagination because faith requires us to envision and inhabit a world that we cannot perceive with our senses. If reason changes minds, then imagination changes hearts.
Never doubt God’s mighty power to work in you and accomplish all this. He will achieve infinitely more than your greatest request, your most unbelievable dream, and exceed your wildest imagination! (far more than you could ever imagine or guess or request in your wildest dreams!) He will outdo them all, for his miraculous power constantly energizes you. [Ephesians 3:20]
AVL City Church (formerly known as audaciChurch) started out in the heart of God to inspire His creation to discovery their Maker and all they are made for. In January 2010 God entrusted this vision to us. We wrestled with it for a whole year, exploring what the vision and mission might look like (image on right: 2012).
In the fall of 2012, in the heart of downtown Asheville, NC, with a few family and friends, a semi-believable vision, a laughable dream, no building, and zero dollars, we launched.

Even though the past and the current spiritual condition is dark, the future is bright because God has brought us here. God has brought you here! What if we leap into the future not by wishing for it but by investing in it?
The Imagine Challenge is about confronting our current imaginations, mindsets and expectations. We must believe again, press into and see God’s reality becoming ours. This journey will pave the way for greater inward revival and outward impact by spreading the Good News of the Kingdom of God worldwide. Yes, this requires vision and will require finances. This will also require us to lead the way, to go first as we expand our reach.
Imagine if what the church did, impacted the city. Imagine a city that is filled with a tangible, powerful, thick atmosphere of peace that enables people to think for themselves, dream, and celebrate life. Imagine a place where hope is real and measurable, so the prevailing attitude is that anything is possible.
Can you imagine what it would be like to see dignitaries coming from around the world to see what God is doing here? Investing in eternity is not an obligation or an option, its the greatest opportunity on earth!
